Where is Termo?
Termo is about 32 miles (51 kilometers) north-northeast of Susanville. It is right on U.S. Highway 395. This highway is a major road that runs through many states. The town is also near where an old railroad line used to be.
Termo's Past
In the year 1900, Termo was an important stop for the Nevada–California–Oregon Railway. It was the end of the line for this railroad at that time. Later, the railway tracks were extended further north.
A post office opened in Termo in 1908. This means people lived there and needed to send and receive mail. However, the post office closed in 1914. It then reopened for a short time in 1915. This shows that the town's population changed quite a bit over the years.
