Growing Up and College Basketball
Terrence Woodyard was born in Madrid, Spain. He went to Mount Zion High School in Georgia. After high school, he played college basketball at Western Carolina University. He was part of their team from 2001 to 2005. During his time there, he was roommates with Kevin Martin, who later became a well-known NBA player.
Woodyard played in 107 games during his four years in college. He averaged about 3.8 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. This means he scored almost 4 points and grabbed about 2 missed shots in each game he played. He was good at shooting, making 45.2% of his shots.

Playing in Europe: Leicester Riders
In September 2007, Terrence Woodyard moved to England to play for the Leicester Riders. This team is part of the British Basketball League. He played alongside his former college teammate, Kyle Greathouse. Woodyard quickly became one of the team's top scorers. For example, in one game in December, he scored 22 points, helping his team win against the London Capital.
Adventures in Japan
After his time in England, Woodyard went to Japan. In October 2008, he signed with the Toyama Grouses. This team plays in the Basketball Japan League. He later joined another team in the same league, the Saitama Broncos, for the 2009–2010 season. During this season, Woodyard was one of only two players on his team who scored more than 10 points per game, averaging 12.2 points.
Playing in Canada
In 2011, Woodyard's basketball journey took him to Canada. He was noticed by the Saint John Mill Rats team during a charity game. The Mill Rats signed him for their preseason games. However, he was later cut from the team before the regular season began. Soon after, in November 2011, the Moncton Miracles signed Woodyard to their team. He played for the Moncton Miracles until 2012. His last professional team was the DFW Stars, where he played until 2013.
