Terror Tomb, also known as Forbidden Tomb, was a fun and spooky ride at Chessington World of Adventures. This theme park is located in southwest London, England. The ride took you on an adventure inside a mysterious, haunted tomb. Terror Tomb opened in 1994. It was part of a new area in the park called the Forbidden Kingdom. All the music for the ride, including a cool hard rock song, was created by Graham Smart.

About the Terror Tomb Ride

This ride was built to replace an older attraction called The 5th Dimension. Terror Tomb used the same building and ride path. It was a "dark ride," meaning you rode in vehicles through indoor scenes. The ride featured amazing moving figures called animatronics. It also used special effects to create an Ancient Egyptian adventure.

The Story of Terror Tomb

The ride's story was a mix of funny moments and spooky ghost train scares. You followed a tour guide named Abdab. He was trying to secretly steal treasure from inside the tomb. But then, mummies would capture him! In the exciting end of the ride, Abdab was part of a dramatic hard rock concert.

Why Terror Tomb Closed

Terror Tomb was open for seven years, from 1994 to 2001. It closed because the park wanted to be more family-friendly. The spooky parts of Terror Tomb were thought to be a bit too scary for younger visitors. Many of the ride's decorations and sets were used again for the next ride. This new ride was called Tomb Blaster. However, the old animatronics from Terror Tomb were not used again.
