Terry Wayne Weeks, born on December 23, 1963, is an American R&B and soul singer. He is currently one of the main singers for the very famous Motown group, The Temptations.
Early Life and Music Beginnings
Terry Weeks was born in Birmingham, Alabama. He joined the Air Force and spent eight years performing with a special Air Force entertainment group called Tops In Blue.
After leaving the Air Force in the early 1990s, Terry started singing in his local area in Alabama. One day, he had a chance to audition for Otis Williams, a member of The Temptations.
Joining The Temptations
Otis Williams was impressed by Terry's singing. Terry first joined a special music project called For Lovers Only. After that, he started filling in for The Temptations' lead singer, Ali-Ollie Woodson, who was dealing with health issues.
In 1997, Terry Weeks officially became a permanent member of The Temptations. He joined a lineup that included Otis Williams, Ron Tyson, Theo Peoples, and Harry McGilberry.
Music Career Highlights
As a lead singer for The Temptations, Terry Weeks helped sing on some of their later popular songs. These included "Stay," which came out in 1998, and "I'm Here," released in 2000. He continues to perform with the group today.
