Tetsuya Yamazaki (山崎 哲也, Yamazaki Tetsuya, born July 25, 1978) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender. His elder brother, Takahiro, was a Japanese baseball player.

Playing Football
Tetsuya Yamazaki was born in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, on July 25, 1978. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career.
Early Career
In 1997, Tetsuya joined Montedio Yamagata, a club in the Japan Football League. He did not play many games during his first two years with the team.
Time with Oita Trinita
In 1999, Tetsuya moved to Oita Trinita. This club had just been promoted to the J2 League. He quickly became an important player, often playing as a central defender.
In 2002, even though he didn't play as much, Oita Trinita won the J2 League championship. This win meant the club was promoted to the top league, the J1 League. In 2003, Tetsuya became a regular player again, this time as a right-sided defender. However, he played less in 2004.
Moving to Cerezo Osaka
In 2005, Tetsuya Yamazaki joined Cerezo Osaka. He played many games as a central defender for them. In 2007, Cerezo Osaka was moved down to the J2 League. Tetsuya did not play any matches that year.
Return and Retirement
In 2008, Tetsuya returned to Oita Trinita. He played a few more games before deciding to retire from professional football at the end of the 2008 season.
