History of the Hall of Fame
The Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame officially started on December 21, 1999. A person named John T. Rediger was its founder and first president. In 2004, the Hall of Fame welcomed its very first members. This first induction ceremony happened in a room at the West of the Pecos Museum.
The Hall of Fame has honored many different people. These include cowboys and cowgirls from all kinds of rodeo events. They also include people from categories used in the ProRodeo Hall of Fame. In 2019, the Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame opened its doors to the public. It is located in the Old T&P Depot building.
What the Hall of Fame Does Today
Today, the Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame continues to honor rodeo stars. They choose people who competed in the West of the Pecos rodeo. These are individuals who then became famous in the wider rodeo world.
You can find the Hall of Fame at 100 East Dot Stafford Street. It's inside the Old T&P Train Depot. The Pecos Chamber of Commerce is also in the same building. The Hall of Fame is open from Tuesday to Saturday. You can visit between 10 AM and 4 PM. The Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization. This means it works for the public good, not to make money.
