Thatcher is a small community in Box Elder County, Utah, United States. It's called a census-designated place because it's a group of people living together that the government counts for official records, but it's not a formally organized town or city.
Thatcher is a farming community. It is located about 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Bothwell and 7 miles (11 km) west of Tremonton. In 2010, 789 people lived there.
The community was named after Moses Thatcher. He was an important leader, called an apostle, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. People first settled in Thatcher in 1890.
A nearby mountain, Thatcher Mountain, is also named after this community. It is located about 2 miles (3 km) to the west.
