About The Arctic Patrol Mystery Book

This book is part of a very popular series about two teenage detectives. The Hardy Boys series has been loved by readers for many years. It features brothers Frank and Joe Hardy solving mysteries.

The stories are known for their thrilling plots and clever puzzles. They often involve travel to interesting places. This particular book takes the boys on a cool journey to a faraway land.

The Exciting Plot: A Mystery in Iceland

The story begins with Frank and Joe Hardy, along with their friend Chet Morton. They fly all the way to Iceland for a new case. Their mission is to find a sailor named Rex Hallbjornsson. He is owed money from an insurance company.

Before they even leave their hometown of Bayport, something strange happens. Someone tries to kidnap Frank! This shows them that the mystery is serious.

Searching for a Missing Astronaut

In Iceland, the boys learn about another big mystery. An American astronaut has disappeared! He was in Iceland to study volcanoes. Frank finds a glove near a sulfur pit. He thinks it might belong to the missing astronaut.

The Hardy Boys take a private plane to Akureyri. But the pilot is not who he seems. He forces the plane to land on a glacier. A fake rescue helicopter then picks up the phony pilot. Frank and Joe are left stranded on the ice.

Trapped on a Glacier

The boys try to use the radio for help. But the fake pilot had hidden a special part called a frequency crystal. They find it and finally contact the radio tower in Reykjavik. Another helicopter comes to rescue them.

They continue their journey to Akureyri. There, they meet someone pretending to be Rex Hallbjornsson. Later, back in Reykjavik, they see Chet acting strangely outside their hotel.

Unmasking the Impostors

Thinking someone might be in their room, Frank and Joe rush upstairs. They find the fake pilot and his fake rescuer. Joe tries to grab the pilot. His wig comes off, revealing he is the fake Rex Hallbjornsson! He and his partner manage to escape.

Chet and another friend, Biff Hooper, join the search. They go to investigate a man who might know the real Rex. Frank and Joe go with a coast guard officer to search for Hallbjornsson at sea.

Solving the Case and Rescuing the Kidnapped

After a big storm, Frank spots a small raft. He thinks it might be the criminals. The boys then go undercover. They pretend to be crewmen for Rex Mar, who is the real Hallbjornsson.

The fake Rex Hallbjornsson, named Musselman, is fooled at first. But Joe accidentally speaks English instead of Icelandic. The boys fight the criminals and get them arrested.

With Biff's help, the boys figure out how the bad guys plan to move the kidnapped astronaut. The kidnappers take over a plane. But the astronaut and Chet, who was also kidnapped, break free. They help to stop the criminals.
