The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories is a special book by the famous children's author Dr. Seuss. It came out on September 27, 2011. This book is a collection of seven fun stories that also have pictures.
These stories are quite rare. They were first printed in magazines way back in the early 1950s. But they had never been put together in a book before this collection. The publisher even called them "the literary equivalent of buried treasure."
A dentist from Massachusetts named Charles D. Cohen found these stories. He is also an expert on Dr. Seuss and wrote about his life. Mr. Cohen also wrote the introduction for this special book.

Finding the Lost Stories
The stories in this book first appeared in magazines in 1950 and 1951. Dr. Seuss, whose real name was Theodor Seuss Geisel, passed away in 1991. Years later, these stories were found again by Charles D. Cohen. He is a dentist from Massachusetts and a big fan and expert on Dr. Seuss's work.
Cathy Goldsmith, who works at Random House, saw these old magazine stories. She found them in one of Mr. Cohen's eBay auctions around 2001. Random House later published a book by Mr. Cohen in 2003. It was called The Seuss, the Whole Seuss and Nothing But the Seuss: A Visual Biography of Theodor Seuss Geisel. Mr. Cohen also helped with this collection by writing the introduction.
