The Bull at Pinehurst Farms, often called just The Bull, is a famous golf course in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. It was designed by the legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus. This is the only golf course in Wisconsin that Jack Nicklaus designed! In 2021, it was even named one of the top 100 public courses in the whole United States. The Bull has 18 holes and was built on an old dairy farm called Pinehurst.

Discovering The Bull Golf Course

The Bull at Pinehurst Farms is known for being a challenging and beautiful course. It has 18 holes, each with its own unique design. The course is built on varied land, with some parts flat and others hilly. You'll find lots of trees, water, and sand traps (called bunkers) that make the game exciting.

What Makes The Bull Special?

The course was designed by Jack Nicklaus, one of the greatest golfers ever. His courses are known for being tough but fair. The Bull is no different! It tests golfers' skills with long holes, tricky turns, and greens protected by obstacles.

Challenging Holes at The Bull

The first few holes at The Bull might seem easy, but don't be fooled! The course quickly becomes more challenging.

  • Hole 5 (Follow On): This is one of the best holes on the course. It's a long hole with a deep ravine (a narrow valley) running along one side. Trees also guard the other side, meaning you need to hit the ball very accurately. This hole is often called the course's "signature hole" because it's so memorable.
  • Hole 8 (Avant Garde): On this hole, you have to hit your first shot over the Onion River. Then, you have a choice: take a risky path to get closer to the green, or play it safe. Either way, you'll cross the river again before reaching the green!
  • Hole 14 (Cornerstone): This is a long and tough hole. The Onion River runs along the entire right side, making it hard to avoid. The green is also small and slightly uphill.
  • Hole 18 (Rock-n-Roll): The final hole is a very demanding one. You need to hit your first shot over a pond. Then, your approach shot goes to a small green tucked behind a wet area. It's considered one of the best finishing holes in Wisconsin.

The first nine holes together measure about 3,551 yards from the longest tees. The back nine holes are even longer, measuring about 3,778 yards. In total, the course is about 7,329 yards long from the very back tees. This makes it a long and challenging course for experienced golfers.
