The Changes is an exciting British science fiction television show made for children. It was filmed in 1974 and first shown by the BBC in 1975. The story is based on a series of books by Peter Dickinson. It tells a thrilling tale about a world where technology suddenly stops working.

What Are The Changes?

Imagine a world where all machines suddenly make a terrible noise. This noise makes people want to destroy every piece of technology they can find! This is what happens in The Changes.

Life Without Technology

After this strange event, society goes back to how it was before modern machines. People become very suspicious of anyone who might have hidden technology. Even talking about machines or technology becomes forbidden. Things like electricity pylons, which survived the destruction, make people feel sick or even violent.

Nicky's Adventure

The story follows a teenage girl named Nicky Gore, played by Victoria Williams. She gets separated from her parents during these "Changes." The show has 10 episodes, and it follows Nicky's journey to find her family and figure out what caused these mysterious events. The series first aired every Monday from January 6 to March 10, 1975.
