The Demon Headmaster is a British TV show made for CBBC. It's based on the popular children's books by Gillian Cross. The show first aired on October 14, 2019.
This series is the second TV version of the books. The first one was made in 1996. In this new show, Nicholas Gleaves plays the main character. He is a mysterious head teacher with strange powers. He dreams of taking over the world!
This show is a direct follow-up to the original series. Some actors from the old show, like Charlotte Beckett and Sally Oliver, return. They play Dinah Hunter and Rose Carter. The show has been so popular that a second series is planned.
About the Show's Creation
The TV series was written by Emma Reeves. It is based on the newer books by Gillian Cross, starting with Total Control (2017). These books introduce a new main character, Lizzie Warren. The original books and TV show were about a character named Dinah Glass.
The series was filmed in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. Emma Reeves has suggested ideas for a second series. It would use more stories from Total Control and its follow-up, Mortal Danger.
