Conn arrived in New York City and started working for his uncle. But soon, he got a new job. He began working for the company building the giant Ferris Wheel. This amazing wheel was for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Conn worked very hard with his new friend, Martin Brennan. They helped build the huge wheel.
A Prophecy Comes True
After the giant wheel was finished, it was set up at the fair. Conn finally got to ride it! This made his aunt's prediction come true. His uncle wanted Conn to help build a bridge next. But Conn decided to stay at the fair. He took a job as a guard. He hoped that Trudy would visit the fair someday.

Trudy did visit the fair! Conn and Trudy met again. They eventually got married. After that, they moved to Wisconsin to start their new life together.
