A Look at History
The museum's story began a long time ago. In 1933, it started as the Hershey American Indian Museum. It showed items from Native American cultures. Later, in 1935, the museum added more items. These new pieces were from the Pennsylvania German culture.
The museum moved to a new building in 2009. That's when it became "The Hershey Story, The Museum on Chocolate Avenue." Even though the museum changed, it still owns its Native American and Pennsylvania German collections. However, these older items are not currently on display for visitors.
