The Highlands is a very large shopping and entertainment area located in Triadelphia, West Virginia. It's about 7 miles east of the city of Wheeling. This big retail park first opened its doors in August 2004.

When The Highlands first opened, it was special because it had the only Cabela's store for many hours of driving. Over time, it grew much bigger. It became home to many popular stores. These included JCPenney, Kohl's, Target, and Walmart. These large stores are often called "anchor tenants" because they attract many shoppers.

Shops and Fun Things to Do

Today, The Highlands has more than 100 different shops. You can also find many restaurants and services there. There are even car dealerships. Some of the well-known stores include Bath & Body Works, Books-A-Million, Justice, Lane Bryant, Old Navy, and The Shoe Dept..

For entertainment, The Highlands has a large movie theater. It's a 14-screen Marquee Cinemas. This means you can watch many different movies there. The entire shopping area is huge. It has over 1.2 million square feet of space for stores. This makes it the biggest shopping complex in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia.

Where is The Highlands Located?

The Highlands is owned and managed by the Ohio County Development Authority. This is the same group that helped build it. You can find The Highlands right off Interstate 70. Just take Exit 10, which is also known as Cabela Drive. It's easy to get to for a day of shopping and fun.
