Unraveling the Mystery at Banshee Towers
During their school holiday, the children are told to explore the countryside. Their parents want them to visit interesting places. They should not look for mysteries in their village.
The children visit an old, grand house called Banshee Towers. This house is showing many famous sea paintings. Ern and Bets especially love these artworks.
The Haunting of Banshee Towers
People say Banshee Towers is haunted. Strange wailing noises are heard there. These spooky sounds are making visitors stay away.
On another visit, Ern notices something odd. A small boat he liked in one painting is now missing! When he tells the owner, the children accidentally put themselves in danger.
Solving the Art Puzzle
The children start investigating the mystery. They soon discover a secret plot. The owner of the Towers is working with an art forger. An art forger is someone who makes fake copies of paintings.
The owner and another staff member are replacing the real paintings with fakes. They plan to sell the original, valuable artworks. Fatty, the leader, mostly solves this mystery on his own.
This book is a bit different from other Find-Outers stories. The children explore a cave and a secret passage. This is the first time they do something like this. It makes the story feel more like a Famous Five adventure. The book ends with Fatty saying they will find many more mysteries to solve.
