What is the Story About?

The Hardy Boys' New Boat

Frank and Joe Hardy, two young detectives, decide to buy a Chinese boat called a junk. Its name is the Hai Hau. They plan to use the boat to take passengers to Rocky Isle. This way, they hope to earn some extra money.

A Hidden Secret on the Hai Hau

Soon, four mysterious men become very interested in the Hai Hau. They believe there is a hidden treasure inside the boat. It turns out the Hai Hau was stolen from Hong Kong. This makes the mystery even bigger!

Friends Join the Adventure

The Hardy Boys' friends, including Chet Morton and Sam Radley, join them in solving the mystery. Their Chinese-American friend, Jim Foy, also helps them out. A private detective named George Ti-Ming helps too. He is trying to find his friend's missing ship from Hong Kong.

Who Wants the Junk?

Two men, Chin Gok and Mr. Montrose, are especially keen on the junk. They are convinced the boat holds a valuable treasure. The Hardy Boys must figure out what the treasure is and why these men want it so badly.

Solving the Mystery
