The New Adventures of Speed Racer is an animated TV show from 1993. It's a new version of the classic Speed Racer series. This show was made in America and had 13 episodes. The creators hoped it would lead to a Speed Racer movie.

However, a movie didn't happen right away. This was because Warner Bros. had the rights to make a live-action film. They later released a Speed Racer movie in 2008. Even though the TV show ended, it helped bring the Speed Racer brand back into the spotlight. Many new toys and comics were made, which fans loved. The idea for the show came from a company called PANGEA. Another company, Fred Wolf Films, also wanted to restart the series. PANGEA had worked on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys before. They helped develop the show and its merchandise, including toys, comic books, and other fun items. The show was also very popular in Russia. It even had a brand new theme song!

The name "New Adventures" was used in TV guides. But on the show itself, it was simply called "Speed Racer." Interestingly, another Speed Racer show, Speed Racer X, is known in Brazil as "As Novas Aventuras de Speed Racer." This translates to "The New Adventures of Speed Racer."
