The Otesaga Hotel, also called the Otesaga Resort Hotel, is a famous and historic hotel. It's found in the lovely Cooperstown, New York village, right on Lake Street ((NY-80)). This grand building was finished in 1909. It was designed in the Federal style, which is a classic American look. The Otesaga Hotel is an important part of the Cooperstown Historic District, sitting on the southern shore of Lake Otsego.
This special hotel has been chosen by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to be a member of the Historic Hotels of America. This means it's recognized as a really important and well-preserved historic place!

The Otesaga Hotel is a popular spot that opens its doors each year in mid-April. It stays open for guests until after Thanksgiving. It has 135 rooms, so there's plenty of space for visitors. The hotel also stretches along 700 feet of the beautiful Lake Otsego shore.

Who Built This Place?
The Otesaga Hotel was designed by a talented architect named Percy Griffin. It was built by two brothers, Stephen Carlton Clark and Edward Severin Clark. The style of the hotel is often described as both Federal and Neo-Georgian. When you look at the front of the building, you'll see a large porch, called a portico. This portico is held up by eight huge wooden columns, each one 30 feet tall! They make the hotel look very grand and impressive.

Some people say that the Otesaga Hotel might be haunted! It even appeared on a TV show called "Ghost Hunters". The episode about the hotel first aired on August 25, 2010. So, if you visit, maybe you'll hear some interesting stories!
