Welcome to Pooh Corner was a fun TV show that mixed real actors with puppets. It showed the famous characters from the Winnie the Pooh stories. Actors wore big, human-sized puppet suits to bring characters like Pooh and Tigger to life! Only Roo was a smaller, traditional puppet.
The special puppet costumes were made by a company called Alchemy II, Inc. This company was led by Ken Forsse, who later created the popular toy, Teddy Ruxpin. The show first started on May 30, 1983. This was the very same day that The Disney Channel first launched! The show aired until June 9, 1986. Reruns of Welcome to Pooh Corner continued to be shown on The Disney Channel until May 30, 1997.

Where Did the Name Come From?
