Dave Spud is a British animated TV show for children. It's about the funny and strange adventures of a boy named Dave Spud, who lives in Grimsby. He lives with his family and friends in a tall tower block.

The show was made by Edward Foster. He got the idea from a short film he made in 2003 called 'Anna Spud'. The show started on September 2, 2019. Each episode is about 11 minutes long. The music for the show was created by the electronic music group Basement Jaxx.

Here are some of the exciting and silly episodes from the first season of Dave Spud:

  • A Starfish Called Gareth: The Spud family goes on holiday in their camper van. They end up at the bottom of the sea! Dave has to find a clever way to get help.
  • Donkey: Dave saves a donkey that is in danger from the docks. He hides it in the camper van. But then the donkey eats Gran's glasses, causing trouble.
  • A Whaley Good Time: Fuzzypeg eats the family's fish dinner. Dave needs to catch another fish. He hooks something big, but it turns out to be a whale!
  • Born Free: George takes Dave camping for an adventure. Dave isn't sure it's a good idea. He's right when they wake up in a bear's cave!
  • Culture: George takes the Spuds to a museum filled with mouldy cheese. Anna dares Dave to lick the cheeses on display.
  • Bored Silly: Gran wins a board game as a Bingo prize. The game has been locked up for years and has its own plans for revenge.
  • Blinking Heck: Betty wants a nice photo of Dave and Anna. George uses Gran's camera, but it's been cursed by an ancient mummy.
  • Wishes: Dave has two wishes: for Fuzzypeg to smell better and for Gran to be nicer. But is getting what you want always a good thing?
  • Crush: Dave gets a girlfriend who is actually an alien. She looks a lot like a common household item.
  • Bike: Anna is good at practicing for her school cycling test. Dave isn't as skilled. He hopes to pass with a new bike from his parents.
  • Dig: Betty tells Dave to find a hobby. He starts looking for treasure. He ends up shaking the very foundations of his tower block home.
  • Sports Day: It's Sports Day at Grimsby High. Betty really wants to win the trophy for her family.
  • Growing Pains: Dave is given a plant bulb to grow. He puts it in his lunch box. Soon, he finds out it loves Betty's sandwiches.
  • Fuzzypeg: George changes the washing machine's spin cycle. This creates a black hole in the Spuds' kitchen.
  • Were Gran: Gran needs new teeth. It's probably not a good idea to pick up a set found by the road, especially during a full moon.
  • Get Lost: George wins tickets to a fancy local house. Soon, Dave and the Spuds get lost in its giant maze.
  • Freeze a Jolly Good Fellow: Summer is very hot in Grimsby. Dave finds a way to keep the Spud flat cool. Maybe too cool!
  • Exchange: Dave wants to go on a foreign exchange trip. He ends up staying for a week in a flat just a few doors down.
  • Bad Computer: George finds a computer named Val. But Val has her own ideas. She starts uploading embarrassing videos to the internet.
  • The Coat: Dave needs a new coat. Gran suggests a good one by the car park bin. Dave gets trapped inside the coat and learns about its past.
  • Bog Roll Roll: It's the biggest sports event in Grimsby: the bog roll roll! Dave just has to chase the toilet paper down the hill and catch it.
  • Spud-ageddon: The Spuds don't worry about their carbon footprint. George brings home lots of free electronics they all want to try out.
  • Rat Pack: Dave wants to play drums at school but gets a recorder. With a talent show coming, Dave starts practicing.
  • Flea Man: Dave and Fuzzypeg the dog get very dirty playing at the local dump. Fuzzypeg picks up a very grumpy flea.
  • Spuds on a Plane: Dave's first plane trip doesn't go well. The air pressure and needing to use the toilet make his head swell up.
  • The Wrinkly Bus: Dave is told to watch Gran while the family goes to the doctor. But Dave finds that Gran has escaped!

New Adventures Starting 2020

Here are some of the newer, wild adventures from the second season of Dave Spud:

  • Moth Gran: Gran sits in front of the TV for so long that she turns into a cocoon. With Dave's help, she hatches into a moth.
  • The Beast of Grimsby: Dave and his friend, Zombie Katie, are working on a school project about endangered animals. George takes them to the local park to find some.
  • Chow Wow: Dave enters Fuzzypeg into a competition to be the face of a new dog food. Fuzzypeg wins! He starts a fancy new life, but Dave misses him and tries to end his contract.
  • The Throne: Gran buys a new toilet. This toilet can flush its users into another dimension! Dave and Gran quickly find themselves in old Grimsby.
  • Grimmest Face: Dave is practicing for Grimsby’s ‘grimmest face’ competition. He finds that the wind changing direction can really make his face stick!
  • Breaking Gran: Gran has been very naughty. She is sent to an old people's home. But the home is a nightmare for Gran, so the Spuds must break her free.
  • Two Toots Spud: Dave and his friends get lost on a school orienteering trip because Robert Robot can't read the map. They are picked up by giant tiger pigeons and taken to their nest. Dave must get the map back and get them all to school.
  • The Grimsby Mermaid: Dave finds a mermaid at the dockside. She invites herself over for tea and moves into the Spuds' bathtub. Dave and his family must convince their unwanted guest to go back to her watery home.
  • Venice of the North: Dave and his friends go on a school trip along a canal. They wake up an ancient monster called Big Lippy. It pushes them over a waterfall and sends them back in time to the Jurassic era.
  • Zombie: Dave finds a handheld computer game at the dump where you kill zombies. His friend Zombie Katie finds the game insulting. Dave then faces a group of very angry and real zombies.
  • The Grimsby Meteor: A fortune teller warns Dave that walking under a ladder will bring bad luck. He walks under one anyway, and soon a meteor is heading for Grimsby. Dave and Robert Robot must catch it before everyone is squashed.
  • Magic: Anna is training to be a magician with Dave as her assistant. Their disappearing trick isn't great until Zombie Katie gives them a magic spell book. Soon, they can't stop making things disappear. What happens when there's nothing left in Grimsby to make disappear?
  • Delivery Dave: Lil Sue starts a delivery company called Deliver Sue. Dave takes a job to earn money for new wheels. Anna thinks she can deliver packages faster than Dave, leading to a big sibling rivalry.
  • Barry: Dave is happy when he wins an electronic home helper device called Barry. Finally, his family can boss something around besides him! But Barry gets overwhelmed by the Spuds' demands. Barry fights back, takes over Grimsby Heights, and heads to the sea for peace and quiet.
