The Spiral, also known as 66 Hudson Boulevard, is a very tall building in Hudson Yards, Manhattan, New York City. It has 66 floors and is still being built. The building was first announced in 2016 by a company called Tishman Speyer.

The Spiral will be 1,041-foot (317 m) tall and have 2.85 million square feet (265,000 m2) of space. It is being designed by a design company from Denmark called Bjarke Ingels Group. This company also designed another building nearby called West 57.

The Spiral is located on 34th Street, between Hudson Boulevard and Tenth Avenue. When it is finished, it will join other new buildings in the area. A special thing about The Spiral is that each floor will have outdoor gardens. These gardens will go around the building like a spiral.

What Is The Spiral Building?

The Spiral is a modern skyscraper that stands out in New York City. It is designed to be a place where many different companies can have their offices. The building's unique design makes it look like a giant staircase of gardens.

How Tall Is The Spiral?

The Spiral is 1,041-foot (317 m) tall. This makes it one of the tallest buildings in the city. It has 66 floors, which is a lot of space for businesses.

What Makes The Spiral Special?

The most exciting part of The Spiral is its outdoor gardens. Each floor has its own green space that wraps around the building. This design helps bring nature into the city. It also gives people working there a nice place to relax outside.

History of The Spiral

The idea for this building started in 2014. Back then, it was called the Hudson Spire. It was planned to be even taller, possibly the tallest building in the United States.

In 2016, new pictures of the building were shared. These showed the 1,041 foot (317 m) tower with its "cascading series of landscaped terraces and hanging gardens." This means the gardens look like they are flowing down the building.

Who Will Be in The Spiral?

Many companies will have offices in The Spiral once it is finished. In 2017, a big medicine company called Pfizer said they would move their main office there. They will use floors 7 through 21.

In April 2018, Pfizer officially agreed to rent the space for 20 years. Another company, Blackstone, helped with the money needed to build it. They gave a very large loan of $1.8 billion.

Companies in The Spiral

The building is still being finished, but some companies have already agreed to move in. As of April 2019, about 34.7% of the building's space was rented out.

  • Floors 7-21: Pfizer
  • Floors 25-28: AllianceBernstein
