Chronology
Preceded by Tarzan and the Super 7

The Tarzan/Lone Ranger Adventure Hour was a cool animated TV show. It was made by Filmation and shown on CBS in the early 1980s. This show brought together some famous heroes for kids to enjoy!

The series was a mix of different cartoons. It showed old episodes of Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle. It also had brand new adventures of Filmation's The Lone Ranger. In its second year, new episodes of The New Adventures of Zorro were added. Because of this, the show's name changed to The Tarzan/Lone Ranger/Zorro Adventure Hour. The show ran from 1980 to 1982.

Meet the Voice Actors

Many talented people lent their voices to these classic characters. Here are some of the main voice actors from each part of the show.

Voices of Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle

  • Robert Ridgely was the voice of Tarzan.

Voices of The Lone Ranger

This part of the show had 14 episodes. Each episode was made up of two shorter 15-minute stories.

  • William Conrad voiced The Lone Ranger. He was credited as "J. Darnoc," which is his last name spelled backwards!
  • Ivan Naranjo was the voice of Tonto, the Lone Ranger's loyal friend.
  • Frank Welker voiced many different characters, but he wasn't credited for them.

Voices of The New Adventures of Zorro

  • Henry Darrow voiced Zorro, who was secretly Don Diego de la Vega.
  • Julio Medina was the voice of Miguel.
  • Eric Mason voiced Captain Ramon.
  • Don Diamond voiced Sergeant Gonzales.

DVD Releases

Some parts of this adventure hour were released on DVD. BCI Eclipse Entertainment released the Lone Ranger and Zorro cartoons. However, the Tarzan cartoons were not included. This is because the rights to Tarzan belong to the family of Edgar Rice Burroughs, who created the character. Their permission is needed to release those episodes.

The DVD sets are now hard to find. BCI Eclipse Entertainment went out of business. This means the DVDs are no longer being made. If you find them online, they might be sold by collectors for higher prices.
