The idea for The Toothbrush Family came from Marcia Hatfield in Australia. She thought of it because her son did not want to brush his teeth. She wanted to make brushing teeth more fun for him. Her idea grew into a big success. It led to two TV shows, DVDs, CDs, and even books.

The Second Series

The first series was created by Marcia Hatfield. The screenplays were written by Al Guest and Jean Mathieson. Rainbow Animation produced these early episodes.
For the 1998 series, John Patterson wrote the story. Ron Saunders produced it, and Craig Handley directed. This series was made by Southern Star Entertainment, Film Australia, and Shanghai Animation Film Studio. They worked with Roymark Television to bring the show to life.
