The Book's Introduction
The introduction to The Tree of Seasons was written by Stephen Gately's partner, Andrew Cowles. Some parts of the introduction caused a discussion. Stephen's family felt that certain descriptions of an area in Dublin were not correct.
The family released a statement in a newspaper on May 16, 2010. They wanted to make it clear that these statements did not reflect their views. They also mentioned that Stephen had completed his secondary education.
Illustrations in the Book
Stephen Gately's friend, Keith Wilson, helped with the book. He created black-and-white drawings for the story. These pictures help bring the characters and their adventures to life.
Finishing the Story
After Stephen Gately passed away in October 2009, others helped finish The Tree of Seasons. The final parts of the book were completed with the help of June Considine.com June Considine and Jules Williams. Andrew Cowles wrote the acknowledgements section.
Promoting the Book
After the book was published, Andrew Cowles worked hard to promote it. He appeared on a TV show called The Late Late Show on May 14, 2010. He talked about the book and Stephen's work. The show's host, Ryan Tubridy, later said that Andrew gave a "very solid, brave interview."
