The Wacky World of Mother Goose is a fun animated movie from Rankin/Bass. It was released in 1967 and brings to life many characters from classic nursery rhymes and Charles Perrault's famous stories. Imagine seeing Humpty Dumpty, the Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe, and even Mother Goose herself all in one film! This movie was the first big film Rankin/Bass made for cinemas.

What's the Story About?

The movie takes us to the magical land of Old King Cole. All your favorite nursery rhyme characters live here, like Jack and Jill, Simple Simon, Georgie Porgie, and Humpty Dumpty.

One day, everyone gets worried because Mother Goose has to go on a long trip. She needs to visit her sister, who lives far away, even beyond the Moon!

While Mother Goose is away, a sneaky villain named Count Warptwist, also known as the Crooked Man, tries to take over their peaceful land. He wants to rule everything! It's up to the good characters to team up and stop his wicked plans. Can they save their home before Mother Goose returns?

Who Are the Voices?

Many talented actors gave their voices to the characters in this movie.

  • Margaret Rutherford voiced Mother Goose. This was her very last film role!
  • Bob McFadden was the voice of Humpty Dumpty.
  • Bradley Bolke played the bad guy, the Crooked Man.
  • Other voices were provided by Laura Leslie, James Daugherty, Craig Sechler, Susan Melvin, Kevin Gavin, Bryna Raeburn, Robert Harter, and William Marine.
