The Mystery Begins
The story starts when Nancy Drew helps a neighbor. They visit an old, empty mansion. Inside, a new mystery begins, and danger is waiting. Nancy finds a special symbol, called a witch tree symbol. This symbol leads her to the Pennsylvania Dutch country. There, she must find a clever thief.
Nancy's Adventure
Nancy travels with her friends, Bess and George. At first, the Amish people they meet are very friendly. But soon, things change. A rumor spreads that Nancy is a witch! This makes many people unfriendly. The thief uses this superstition to try and stop Nancy. But Nancy is very determined. She keeps looking for clues. She finds one clue after another.
Nancy uses her smart mind and detective skills. She works hard to solve the puzzling case.
About the Game Adaptation
This book also inspired a video game! The 33rd game in the Nancy Drew point-and-click adventure game series is called Nancy Drew: Midnight in Salem. It is loosely based on the story from this novel. In a point-and-click game, you solve puzzles by clicking on objects.
