The World of Sid & Marty Krofft at the Hollywood Bowl was a special live show. It took place at the famous Hollywood Bowl on July 29, 1973. This event was filmed and later shown on TV as a special. The famous puppet creators, Sid and Marty Krofft, produced it. It first aired on TV during the Thanksgiving weekend, November 24, 1973. Even though it was filmed in front of a live audience, the TV special also used a laugh track. This was common for Krofft shows to make them sound more lively.

What Was the Show About?
This TV special featured many performances and funny skits. These acts were based on popular shows created by Sid and Marty Krofft. It was a big celebration of their creative world.
Meet the Stars and Characters
- Johnny Whitaker, a well-known young actor, was the host of the show. He sang "Friends," which was the main song from Sigmund and the Sea Monsters.
- Jack Wild played a character named Jimmy. Jimmy went on an adventure to find his friend, H.R. Pufnstuf. H.R. Pufnstuf was played by Van Snowden.
- Two famous villains from Krofft shows also appeared. Wilhelmina W. Witchiepoo from H.R. Pufnstuf showed off her magic. She was played by Louise DuArt. Horatio J. Hoodoo from Lidsville also performed his wacky magic. Paul Gale played Hoodoo.
- The young actors from The Brady Bunch also performed. These were Barry Williams, Maureen McCormick, Christopher Knight, Eve Plumb, Mike Lookinland, and Susan Olsen. They sang a mix of songs. They would later appear in a Krofft TV show in 1976.
Different Ways to Watch the Show
The TV special was first shown in a one-hour time slot. This meant the actual show was about 50 minutes long, not counting commercials. Over the years, different versions of the show were aired.
Shorter Versions on TV
In 1995, Nick at Nite showed a shorter version. It was only 30 minutes long. This version was missing the opening part with Billy Barty. It also cut out all the scenes with Witchiepoo and Hoodoo. Later, TV Land often showed the hour-long version. However, it had small cuts to make room for more commercials.
Full Version on Video
The complete, uncut version of the special was released on VHS in 1997. It was called H.R. Pufnstuf Live at the Hollywood Bowl. This allowed fans to see the entire show as it was originally filmed.
