The Life of Thea Schleusner
Thea Schleusner was born on April 30, 1879, in Wittenberg, Germany. From a young age, she showed a passion for art.
She traveled to Paris, France, to study painting at two famous art schools: the Académie Colarossi and the Académie Moderne. These schools helped her develop her artistic skills. When she returned to Germany, she continued her studies with well-known artists like Franz Skarbina and Reinhold Lepsius.
Later, Thea Schleusner made her home in Berlin. There, she became known for painting portraits. She painted many important people, including the artist Emil Nolde, the brilliant scientist Albert Einstein, and the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche.
Sadly, many of her paintings were lost during World War II. She was also a member of an art group in Berlin called the Verein Berliner Künstler .
Thea Schleusner passed away in 1964 in Berlin. Today, some of her artwork can be seen in the collection of the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, France.
