Thomas & Friends: Misty Island Rescue is an exciting adventure film from 2010. It's a special movie from the popular TV show Thomas & Friends. This film uses amazing computer animation to bring the engines to life! It tells a fun story about Thomas the Tank Engine getting lost on a mysterious island.
This special movie takes place between the thirteenth and fourteenth seasons of the TV series.

The Story of Misty Island Rescue
Building the Rescue Center
The engines on Sodor are busy building a new Search and Rescue Center. This new center will be home to Harold the helicopter, Rocky the crane, and Captain, a new lifeboat. To build it, they need a special type of wood called Jobi wood. This wood comes all the way from Hiro's homeland.
All the engines want to help deliver the Jobi wood. But Diesel feels left out because Thomas teased him for not being a steam engine. Diesel wants to prove he's just as good! He tries to take the Jobi wood himself. This leads to a big chase between Diesel and Thomas.
Thomas Gets Lost
During the chase, Diesel almost falls off an unfinished bridge. All the Jobi wood ends up falling into the sea! Thomas bravely rescues Diesel from the bridge. For his bravery, Thomas gets a special reward: a trip to the rescue center on the mainland.
When it's time to go, Thomas is told there's no room on the boat. So, he asks to be carried on a raft behind the boat. But on the way, the chain holding the raft snaps! Thomas falls asleep and wakes up to find himself on a strange, unknown island. This island is called Misty Island.
Meeting the Logging Locos
Thomas starts to explore Misty Island. He soon discovers that the island is home to some unique engines called the "Logging Locos." These engines are Ferdinand, and two small twin engines named Bash and Dash. They were sent to Misty Island because they caused a lot of trouble on the mainland.
While Thomas is exploring, Sir Topham Hatt gets a call saying Thomas is missing. Sir Topham Hatt, Harold, and Captain quickly start a search party to find him.
Finding a Way Home
Thomas explores the whole island, even crossing a wobbly bridge called the Shake-Shake Bridge. He finds a logging station where the Logging Locos work. Thomas decides he wants to go back to Sodor. He learns about the Misty Island Tunnel, which connects Misty Island to Sodor.
As they are almost halfway through the tunnel, rocks cave in on both sides! Thomas and the Logging Locos get stuck. To make things worse, the Logging Locos run out of oil. Thomas spots a hole in the tunnel ceiling. He gets a clever idea: he can puff smoke out through the hole to show his friends where he is!
The Rescue and Celebration
The smoke quickly alerts the other engines on Sodor. Percy and Whiff rush into the tunnel to help. Percy calls out to Thomas, telling him to break through the rocks. But Whiff, who knows the tunnel well, tells Thomas to wait. Thomas trusts Whiff, and soon Percy and Whiff break through the cave-in.
The three engines then pull the Logging Locos out of the tunnel. They take them to be fixed up. Meanwhile, Sir Topham Hatt, Edward, James, and Gordon have sailed to Misty Island to find Thomas. Thomas rushes back to the island and finds them just in time!
After all the adventures, the Logging Locos are welcomed to Sodor. Everyone celebrates the grand opening of the new Sodor Search and Rescue Center!
What Happens Next?
In a short scene after the movie ends, Diesel 10 is seen watching the engines from above the rescue center. He vows to get revenge. This scene hints at what will happen in the next special movie, Thomas & Friends: Day of the Diesels.
