Thomas & Friends is a children's television series about the engines and other characters working on the railways of the Island of Sodor, and is based on The Railway Series books written by the Reverend W. Awdry.

This was Christopher Skala's last series as executive producer.

Thomas and Percy are chosen to deliver a giant balloon. But Percy thinks it would be done a lot easier if the balloon carried the engine with it. A new enthusiastic fire truck called Flynn tries to impress the Diesels with his bravado, but his actions have potentially disastrous consequences, starting with that he ignores the Rescue manager's message of which blue engine who is on fire. First Flynn goes to Edward, but it is not him who is on fire, and he later goes to Gordon and his express coaches, but it isn't him either. Finally Flynn reaches the Dieselworks, where he finds Thomas; who is the blue engine on fire.

Rupert Degas joined the voice cast. Degas originally voiced Diesel 10 in Misty Island Rescue, but was replaced by Matt Wilkinson.
