Thomas Floyd (politician) facts for kids
Thomas Floyd was a soldier in the American Civil War and a state senator in Louisiana who was murdered in the Coushatta massacre of August 1874 by a mob of white supremacists who attacked his home while his wife and daughter were present. He was hauled outside and shot in the head. An African American, he served in the Union Army during the American Civil War.
