Sir Thomas Morgan (born around 1589 – died 13 May 1664 or 18 October 1666) was an important Welsh politician. He was a Member of Parliament, which means he helped make laws for England in the House of Commons.

Sir Thomas Morgan's Life and Work

Sir Thomas Morgan was the oldest son of Sir William Morgan. In 1650, he joined the Inner Temple, which was a place where people studied to become lawyers.

In 1654, Sir Thomas Morgan became a Member of Parliament (often called an MP). He was chosen to represent the area of Monmouthshire in a special group called the First Protectorate Parliament. This was an important job where he helped make decisions for the country.

Sir Thomas Morgan passed away on either May 13, 1664, or October 18, 1666.

Sir Thomas Morgan was married two times. His first wife was Rachel Kemys. She was the widow of David Kemys and the daughter of Robert Hopton. Rachel was also the sister of Ralph Lord Hopton.

Later, Sir Thomas Morgan married Elizabeth Windham. She was the daughter of Francis or Thomas Windham, who lived in Sandhills, Somerset.
