Thomas Weston was born in 1737. His father worked as a cook. Thomas started his acting career in London around 1759. By 1763, and until his death, he was considered the most entertaining comedian in England.

Weston's Acting Career

Many people thought Thomas Weston was a very talented comedian. He was a loyal actor for Samuel Foote, a famous playwright and actor. Samuel Foote even wrote a special part just for Weston. This part was Jerry Sneak in a play called The Mayor of Garratt.

Weston was also famous for playing the character Abel Drugger in a play called The Alchemist. Even David Garrick, another very famous actor who also played this role, praised Weston's performance highly. A writer named Georg Christoph Lichtenberg wrote about how skilled Weston was at making people laugh with his funny actions and expressions on stage.

Thomas Weston passed away on January 18, 1776.
