How it Started
Thorneywood Congregational Church began in 1861. It was like a new branch of another church called Castle Gate Congregational Centre. This means it was set up to help more people in the area attend services.
Building and Closing
The new church building was finished and opened in 1864. For many years, it served the community in Nottingham. However, the church eventually closed its doors. The very last service was held on February 18, 1968. After it closed, the building was taken down.
