This community sits on a road called Arkansas Highway 5. It's about three miles south of the line that separates Arkansas from Missouri. Three Brothers is also on a ridge, which is like a long, narrow hill. From this spot, you can see an arm of Bull Shoals Lake about three miles to the northeast. The larger town of Mountain Home is about eight miles to the northwest.

A Look Back in Time

Three Brothers was once known by a different name: Vin. Long ago, it was a busy and growing community. It even had its own newspaper called The Ozark Clarion! This newspaper would share local news and stories with the people living there.

A post office was opened in Three Brothers in 1912. This was a very important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years, finally closing its doors in 1953.

How Three Brothers Got Its Name

The community of Three Brothers was named after a nearby natural landmark. Just about 1.5 miles to the northwest, along Route 5, there is a mountain also called Three Brothers. It's common for towns and communities to be named after important features in their local landscape, like mountains, rivers, or lakes.
