Early Life and Education

Thusitha Laknath was born on September 7, 1983, in Sri Lanka. He went to Koswatta Jayawardena Vidyalaya for his early education. Later, he studied at Ananda College in Colombo, which is a well-known school.

Acting Career

After finishing school, Thusitha began to study theater at the Tower Hall Theatre Foundation. He started acting in stage plays in 2000 with a play called Fontamarawa. In 2002, he acted in The Doll's House.

From 2002 to 2007, Thusitha mostly worked behind the scenes. He was a stage manager, helping to make sure plays ran smoothly. In 2007, he returned to acting on stage. He appeared in plays like Swayankreeya Wanshakathawa, Man Diyawela, Sindu Pahai, Security, and Romeo and Juliet. He even won national awards for being the Best Actor in three of these plays. He also acted in Ada Vage Davasaka Antigone.

In 2006, Thusitha produced his own short play called Pissanta Mama Aadarai.

Later, a film director named Vimukthi Jayasundara saw Thusitha acting on stage. The director then chose Thusitha to be in his movie, Ahasin Watei. This film was shown at many important film festivals around the world, including the Venice and Toronto film festivals.
