Tijana Bošković (born March 8, 1997) is a famous Serbian professional volleyball player. She plays as an opposite spiker, which is a key attacking position. Many people consider her one of the best volleyball players in the world.

Tijana has achieved amazing success with the Serbia women's national volleyball team. She won gold medals at the 2018 and 2022 World Championships. She also helped her team win gold at the 2017 and 2019 European Championships. She has won two Olympic medals: a silver in 2016 and a bronze in 2020.

Since 2014, Tijana has been a very important player for Serbia's offense. The European Volleyball Confederation even named her the Female Volleyball Player of the Year three times in a row (2017, 2018, and 2019). She is known for her powerful spikes and serves. She holds some of the fastest spike speed records in women's indoor volleyball.

Her Amazing National Team Journey

Tijana Bošković has had a fantastic career playing for her country. She started young and quickly became a star.

Starting with the Junior Team

Tijana joined Serbia's junior volleyball team when she was just 15 years old. In 2013, she won a silver medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival. She was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Best Spiker at that event. The next year, in 2014, she led Serbia's U19 team to a gold medal at the Junior European Championship.

Senior Team Debut and Olympic Silver

In 2014, Tijana started playing for Serbia's senior national team. She was the top scorer for Serbia at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. The following year, she won a silver medal at the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup. This second-place finish helped Serbia qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

At the 2016 Rio Olympics, the Serbian team won a silver medal. This was Serbia's first-ever women's volleyball Olympic medal! During the tournament, Tijana made a serve that went 100 km/h. This was the fastest serve ever recorded at the Olympics at that time.

More Success and Olympic Bronze

In 2017, Tijana and the national team won a bronze medal at the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix. She was named the Best Opposite Player of the tournament. Later that year, at the 2017 Women's European Volleyball Championship, Tijana led her team to victory. Serbia won its second European title, and Tijana was named the Most Valuable Player. She scored 130 points, making her the best attacker in the tournament.

In 2018, Tijana was the top scorer in the first FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League. She scored 206 points. That same year, she led Serbia to its first-ever title at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. She was again named Most Valuable Player, scoring 193 points. In 2019, Tijana and Serbia won the European Championship again. She received both the Most Valuable Player and Best Opposite awards.

At the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Serbia earned a bronze medal. Tijana was named Best Opposite. She was the first player to score 30 or more points in three different matches at a single Olympics.

World Champion Again!

At the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship, Serbia successfully defended its title. Tijana was named Most Valuable Player and Best Opposite of the tournament. She became only the second player in history to win back-to-back World Championship MVP awards. She is the only European player to achieve this.

In 2023, Tijana and her team reached the final of the European Championship for the fourth time in a row. They finished in second place, earning a silver medal. Tijana is also part of Serbia's team for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Playing for Clubs
