Tijana Bošković (born March 8, 1997) is a famous Serbian professional volleyball player. She plays as a left-handed opposite hitter. Tijana has won many gold medals with the Serbia women's national volleyball team. These include the 2018 and 2022 World Championships. She also won the 2017 and 2019 European Championships.
Tijana is also an Olympic medalist. She won a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Later, she earned a bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Many people think she is one of the best volleyball players in the world. She has been a key player for Serbia since 2014. The European Volleyball Confederation named her Female Volleyball Player of the Year three times. This was in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
Tijana Bošković has set new records for how fast she can spike and serve the ball. She holds some of the fastest spike speed records. Her spikes have reached speeds of 110.3 and 107.5 kilometers per hour.

Tijana's Early Life and Start in Sports
Tijana Bošković was born on March 8, 1997. Her parents are Serbian. She was born in Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Tijana has a younger brother, Vuk, who plays basketball. Her older sister, Dajana, also plays for the Bosnia and Herzegovina women's national volleyball team. The sisters played against each other for the first time in 2021.
Tijana first tried karate when she was young. But she soon found her love for volleyball and basketball. Since there were no basketball clubs in her hometown, she chose to focus on volleyball. When she was 14, she and Dajana moved to Belgrade. They moved there to play volleyball.
Tijana's National Team Journey
Junior Team Success (2013–2014)
Tijana joined the Serbian junior volleyball team when she was 15. In 2013, she won a silver medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival. She was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Best Spiker at this event. In 2014, she led Serbia's Under-19 team to a gold medal. This was at the Junior European Championship.
Senior Team Debut and Olympic Silver (2014–2016)
Tijana started playing for Serbia's senior national team in 2014. She was the top scorer for Serbia at the 2014 World Championship. The next year, she helped her team win a silver medal at the 2015 World Cup. This second-place finish helped Serbia qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
At the 2016 Olympics, Serbia won a silver medal. They lost to China in the final match. This was Serbia's first-ever women's volleyball Olympic medal. During the tournament, Tijana served a ball at 100 km/h. This was the fastest serve at the Olympics at that time. Another player, Paola Egonu, later broke this record.
Continued Success and Olympic Bronze (2017–2021)
In 2017, Tijana won a bronze medal with her national team. This was at the World Grand Prix. She was also named the Best Opposite Player. At the 2017 European Championship, Tijana led Serbia to victory over the Netherlands. This was Serbia's second European title. She scored 130 points, making her the best offensive player. She was also named the Most Valuable Player.
In 2018, Tijana was the top scorer in the first Women's Volleyball Nations League. She scored 206 points. That same year, she led Serbia to win its first World Championship title. She was again named Most Valuable Player. She scored 193 points in total. Tijana and Serbia won the European Championship again in 2019. She received the Most Valuable Player and Best Opposite awards.
At the 2020 Summer Olympics, Serbia won a bronze medal. Tijana was named Best Opposite. She was the first player to score 30 or more points in three different matches at one Olympics.
Second World Championship and Future Olympics (2022–Present)
In 2022, Serbia defended its title at the World Championship. Tijana was named Most Valuable Player and Best Opposite again. She became only the second player ever to win back-to-back World Championship MVP awards. The first was Regla Torres from Cuba. Tijana is the only European player to achieve this.
At the 2023 European Championship, Tijana and her team reached the final for the fourth time in a row. They finished in second place. Tijana is also part of Serbia's team for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Tijana's Club Career
Since 2015, Tijana Bošković has played for Eczacıbaşı in the Turkish Women's Volleyball League. She won her first trophy with the team in 2016. This was at the Club World Championship in the Philippines. She was the Most Valuable Player and Best Opposite at that tournament.
With Eczacıbaşı, she has won eight trophies in total:
- Three times at the Turkish Women's Volleyball Super Cup (2018, 2019, 2020)
- Twice at the Women's CEV Cup (2017–18, 2021–22)
- Twice at the FIVB Club World Championship (2016, 2023)
- Once at the Turkish Women's Volleyball Cup (2018–19)

Recognition for Her Achievements
- In 2017, the President of Republika Srpska gave money to Tijana and two teammates.
- In 2018, Bosnia and Herzegovina's Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave Tijana a diplomatic passport.
- Serbia's Minister of Foreign Affairs also gave her a diplomatic passport.
- In July 2019, a sports hall in Bileća was named after Tijana.
