Tim Swinson's Rugby Journey

Starting Out in Rugby

Tim Swinson began his rugby journey in amateur leagues. For the 2017-18 season, he played for Ayr in the Scottish Premiership. This helped him gain experience before moving into professional rugby.

Playing for Professional Clubs

Tim started his professional career with Newcastle Falcons in the English Premiership. He played his first game for Newcastle's main team in the 2007–08 season against Bath. He quickly became a valuable player. At the end of a tough season for the Falcons, Tim was named the team's Player of the Year. This showed how important he was to the team.

In the 2012–13 season, Tim moved to Glasgow Warriors in Scotland. He played many games for them and continued to show his skills as a strong lock.

In May 2020, Tim announced he was going to retire from rugby. He planned to start a new career as an apprentice in a garage, following in the footsteps of his teammate Gordon Reid. However, his retirement didn't last long!

Later in 2020, Tim decided to return to rugby. He signed a one-year contract with Saracens, another big club in England. He helped Saracens during the 2020–21 season. He then extended his contract for another year, playing for Saracens when they returned to the top league, the Premiership. He finally retired from the sport in June 2022.

Playing for Scotland

Tim also had a successful international career playing for Scotland. He first played for the Scotland 'A' team in 2013 against England Saxons. Over his career, he earned 38 "caps" for Scotland, which means he played in 38 international matches for his country.
