What's the Story of Timber?

The area known as Timber has a history tied to its name. A post office was opened here in 1894. A post office is where people send and receive mail. This post office served the community for many years, until it closed in 1954. The community was given the name Timber because there were huge areas of trees, or "timber," all around the original settlement.
