Tina Kandelaki, born Tinatin Givievna Kandelaki on November 10, 1975, is a well-known Russian journalist, television presenter, and producer. She is also a co-owner of the Apostol company.

Early Life and Education

Tina Kandelaki was born in Tbilisi, Georgia. Her father, Givi Kandelaki, was an economist. Her mother, Elvira Kandelaki, was a specialist in addiction medicine.

Tina finished high school in Tbilisi. In 1993, she started studying journalism at Tbilisi State University. Later, in 2008, she graduated from the Foreign Affairs Department of the Russian State University for the Humanities.

Tina began her career at Radio 105 in Tbilisi. In 1995, she moved to Moscow and started working for various radio and TV stations. These included M-radio, RDV, Silver Rain Radio, 2x2, Biz-TV, Muz-TV, Vremechko, and TV-6.

Hosting Popular Shows

In September 2002, Tina hosted a talk show called Details on the STS channel. She became very well-known for hosting the TV show The Cleverest, which started in February 2003.

In 2006, she co-hosted a weekly political program on Echo of Moscow radio. In 2008, she hosted Unreal Politics on NTV. In 2009, she hosted Two Stars on Channel One. She also worked as a producer for the TV program Infomania on STS.

In 2009, Tina lent her voice to the character Juarez, one of the guinea pigs in the Disney film G-Force.

She was a jury member for the TV game show KVN Top-League in 2010. She also hosted the show Perfect Man on STS. From 2010 to 2011, she hosted her own radio program called "Alternatina" on Vesti FM. The TV game The Cleverest, which she had hosted for many years, ended in December 2012.

From 2013, she co-hosted the political talk show "Iron Ladies" on NTV. From 2020 to 2022, she hosted the "Special Guest" program on RTVI. In September 2021, she became a Deputy General Director at Gazprom-Media. In February 2022, she was appointed acting director of the TNT channel.

In October 2009, Tina became a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation. This was by invitation from the Russian President at the time, Dmitry Medvedev.

Views and Statements

In November 2007, Tina spoke out against the policies of the Georgian president, Mikheil Saakashvili. She said that a leader who seemed to support democracy turned out to be like a "medieval tyrant."

In February 2022, Tina Kandelaki expressed her support for Russia's actions in Ukraine. In March 2022, she spoke at a rally in Moscow. This rally celebrated the annexation of Crimea and supported Russia's actions.

In January 2024, Tina was not allowed to enter Kazakhstan. This was because of comments she made online. She had said that the Russian language was being treated unfairly in Kazakhstan. She also criticized Kazakhstan's plan to change Russian names of railway stations to Kazakh ones.

She co-founded Apostol Media Group, a company that works in media production and communications. In 2010, Tina opened a restaurant in Moscow called "Tinatin." The recipes used in the restaurant are said to have come from her mother.

From May to November 2011, Tina was on the board of directors for Vyatka Bank. In January 2012, she launched a political talk show online called “A flight with Kamikadze,” where she was the producer. In March 2012, she signed a contract with the cosmetics company Oriflame.

Personal Life

Tina Kandelaki has been married to Vasily Brovko since 2014. She has two children: a son named Leonti from her first marriage, and a daughter named Melania from her current marriage.

In November 2006, Tina was a passenger in a car accident in Nice, France. She was in a Ferrari Enzo that crashed into a tree. Tina was discharged from the hospital a few hours after the accident.

Tina also shares workout videos online. In January 2025, it was announced that she had a third child.
