Martinus "Tinus" Bosselaar (born January 16, 1936 – died June 6, 2018) was a talented Dutch football player. He was known for playing as a left winger, which means he played on the side of the field, helping to attack and score goals.

Playing for Clubs

A Special Move

In 1956, Tinus Bosselaar was part of a big story in Dutch football. He was playing for Feyenoord but really wanted to go back to his old club, Sparta.

His contract with Feyenoord actually said he could leave to rejoin Sparta whenever he wanted. Even though Feyenoord didn't want him to go, Tinus and Sparta agreed he would return.

Feyenoord tried to stop him by going to court. However, Feyenoord lost the case. Tinus was able to leave and went back to play for Sparta, the club he loved. He played for Sparta for many years after that.

Playing for His Country

Tinus Bosselaar also played for the Netherlands. His first international match was on October 16, 1955. It was a 2-2 draw against Belgium.

In his second game, against Norway, he scored two goals. The Netherlands won that match 3-0. Overall, he scored four goals for his country.

Life Outside Football

Tinus Bosselaar passed away on June 6, 2018, when he was 82 years old.
