Titanic is a small community located in Adair County, Oklahoma, in the United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is an area that the government counts for population information, but it does not have its own local city government.
In 2010, the population of Titanic was 356 people. By 2020, the population had changed to 259 people. It is believed that the community was named after the famous ship, the RMS Titanic.
A post office was opened in Titanic on January 3, 1916. However, it closed down on December 31, 1927. After that, people in Titanic received their mail through the post office in Stilwell.
Where is Titanic Located?
Titanic is found along the northern side of Oklahoma State Highway 51. It is about 11 miles (18 km) northwest of Stilwell, which is the main town and county seat of Adair County. Titanic is also about 13 miles (21 km) east of Tahlequah, a larger city in Cherokee County.
