The Tivoli Stadion Tirol is a sports stadium in Innsbruck, Austria. It used to be called Tivoli-Neu. This stadium is used for many different sports, but mostly for football (soccer) games.
It is the home ground for a few teams. These include WSG Tirol, a team in Austria's top football league called the Austrian Football Bundesliga. It is also home to Raiders Tirol, an American football team in the European League of Football.
When the stadium was built in 2000, it could hold 17,400 people. For the UEFA Euro 2008 football tournament, the stadium was made bigger. It could temporarily hold up to 30,000 people. One part of the stadium, the North Stand, has special "rail seats." These seats allow fans to stand safely during games.
History of the Stadium
The Tivoli Stadion Tirol got its name from an older stadium. That stadium was also called Tivoli. The old Tivoli stadium was in a different spot, close to the Sill River.
The new stadium, Tivoli-Neu, opened in 2000. The old Tivoli stadium closed down four years later, in 2004.
On May 28, 2010, the Spanish national football team played a friendly match here. They played against the Saudi Arabia national team. Spain won the game with a score of 3–2.
