Sir Tofiga Vaevalu Falani is a very important leader in Tuvalu. He is a religious minister who has served as the Governor-General of Tuvalu since 2021. This means he represents the King of Tuvalu in the country. He has also been the president of the Church of Tuvalu since 2008. As church president, he has attended important international meetings, like those of the World Council of Churches.

As the Governor-General, Sir Tofiga Vaevalu Falani acts as the representative of the reigning monarch of Tuvalu. This role is like a viceroy, meaning he carries out duties on behalf of the King.

He was chosen for this important job by Queen Elizabeth II in September 2021. Before becoming Governor-General, he also served as the acting Governor-General for a short time on August 14, 2017.
