Tom Junod (born April 9, 1958) is an American journalist. He writes for magazines and has won two important awards called the National Magazine Awards. These awards are given by the American Society of Magazine Editors.

Tom Junod was born on April 9, 1958. He grew up in the United States. In 1980, he finished college at the State University of New York at Albany. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
Journalism Career
Tom Junod started his career writing for different magazines. He worked for GQ magazine. Later, in 1997, he joined Esquire magazine. He also wrote for Atlanta magazine, Life, and Sports Illustrated.
Notable Articles and Stories
Junod has written many well-known articles. Some of his famous pieces include The Falling Man. He also wrote a story about R.E.M. lead singer Michael Stipe in 2001. As of November 2019, he was a writer for ESPN The Magazine.
His Work with Fred Rogers
Tom Junod is also famous for his article about Fred Rogers. Fred Rogers was the host of the children's TV show Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Junod has said that meeting Fred Rogers changed how he saw life. This meeting inspired the 2019 movie A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. Junod also appeared in the 2018 documentary Won't You Be My Neighbor?.
Awards and Recognition
