Playing for Clubs
Starting His Football Journey
As a young player, Rogic played for Woden Weston and Tuggeranong United. In 2009, he joined his first senior team, ANU FC, in the ACT Premier League. In 2011, Rogic played for Belconnen United in the same league. That same year, he won a competition called The Chance and was chosen to join the Nike Football Academy. Out of 75,000 young footballers worldwide, Rogic was one of only eight winners.
Time with Central Coast Mariners
On January 2, 2012, Rogic signed with the A-League club Central Coast Mariners. He played his first professional game on January 21, 2012, against Adelaide United. The Mariners won that game 3–2. He scored his first goal for the club on February 10, 2012. He was named the A-League's young player of the month for February 2012.
At the start of the 2012–13 season, Rogic decided to stay with the Mariners, even though other A-League clubs wanted him. He scored two goals in a big 7–2 win against Sydney FC. In December 2012, Rogic won the NAB Young Footballer of the Month Award. Many big clubs from England, Spain, and Belgium became interested in him.
Joining Celtic F.C.
On January 9, 2013, news came out that Rogic had joined Celtic, a top team in Scotland. The deal was finalized on January 17, 2013. Rogic played his first game for Celtic on February 9, 2013. He helped set up a goal and was named the Man of the Match. He played seven more games for Celtic that season.
Injuries and Loan to Melbourne Victory
In the next season, Rogic played only a few games for Celtic. In January 2014, he was loaned to Melbourne Victory in Australia. A groin injury kept him from playing much for Melbourne. This injury also meant he missed playing for Australia in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2015 AFC Asian Cup. He needed two operations and did not play again until March 2015.
Becoming a Celtic Star
On August 9, 2015, Rogic started his first game for Celtic in almost two years. He scored the first goal in a 2–0 win. He started playing regularly and scored more goals in the following weeks. His goal against Kilmarnock in March 2016 was named Celtic's goal of the season.
Even though big clubs like Arsenal and Valencia were interested, Rogic signed a new three-year contract with Celtic on August 9, 2016. The next day, he scored two goals in a 5–0 win against Motherwell. He also scored in a Champions League play-off game, which Celtic won 5–2.
Rogic scored the first goal in Celtic's 3–0 win over Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup Final in November 2016. He scored another winning goal in injury time against Motherwell in December, giving Celtic a 4–3 win. On May 27, 2017, Rogic scored a late winning goal against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup Final. This win helped Celtic achieve a "treble," winning three major trophies in one season.
In May 2018, Rogic signed another new contract with Celtic.
After not playing much for a while, Rogic's career at Celtic seemed to be ending in August 2020. However, when Australian manager Ange Postecoglou joined Celtic in June 2021, things changed. Rogic knew Postecoglou from the Australian national team. He started playing more and performed very well. His great performances earned him a spot in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year.
On May 13, 2022, Celtic announced that Rogic would be leaving the club after the last game of the season. Rogic said he was proud of his time at the club. He started his final match and received a standing ovation from the fans when he left the field. He and teammate Nir Bitton brought out the Scottish Premiership trophy for the team to lift.
