Tomori Kusunoki (楠木ともり, Kusunoki Tomori, born December 22, 1999) is a Japanese voice actress and singer. She works with the Sony Music Artists agency.

Tomori started her voice acting career in 2017. In the same year, she got her first main role as Kirara in the mobile game Kirara Fantasia. She has also played main characters in popular shows like Märchen Mädchen, Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online and Chainsaw Man. In 2019, she won an award for Best New Actress.

About Tomori Kusunoki

Tomori Kusunoki was born in Tokyo, Japan, on December 22, 1999. She loved entertainment from a very young age. When she was three, she started taking piano lessons.

She was also part of her school's brass band in junior high. In high school, she joined a light music club. Tomori was even the student council president in junior high school.

How She Became a Voice Actress

When Tomori was in her second year of junior high, she became very interested in anime. She especially loved the series Kobato. The way Kana Hanazawa voiced the main character inspired her. This made Tomori want to become a voice actress herself.

She decided to try out for an audition with Sony Music Artists. She felt it might be hard to pass a voice acting audition without more experience. So, she auditioned as a singer instead. She ended up winning a special prize in the competition!

Her Early Career

Tomori started her voice acting journey in 2017. Her first small role was in the anime series Eromanga Sensei. In June 2017, she landed her first big role as Kirara in the mobile game Kirara Fantasia.

In 2018, she became Hazuki Kagimura, the main character in the anime Märchen Mädchen. She also voiced Llenn in Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online. She even sang the ending song for that show, called "To see the future." That same year, she joined Konami's project called BandMeshi. She voiced the guitarist Yokaze Tsuyuri. Later, she was cast as Setsuna Yūki in the Love Live! series. In 2019, she played Melida Angel in Assassins Pride and sang its ending theme.

Music Career and Health

In 2020, Tomori Kusunoki began her solo music career with Sacra Music. Her first EP, "Hamidashimono," was the ending song for The Misfit of Demon King Academy.

In 2021, Tomori was diagnosed with a health condition. This condition caused her to feel pain and numbness when doing dance or other activities with big movements. Because of this, she started to avoid activities that involved a lot of movement in her performances.

In 2022, it was confirmed that Tomori has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. This condition affects her body and makes some movements difficult. Due to the challenges of performing on stage, the Love Live! team announced that she would stop voicing Setsuna Yūki and Nana Nakagawa on March 31, 2023. On March 25, 2023, Coco Hayashi was announced as the new voice for Setsuna.
