Tongva Park is a beautiful 6.2-acre park located in Santa Monica, California. You can find it just south of Colorado Avenue, between Ocean Avenue and Main Street. The park is named after the Tongva people, who are the original inhabitants of the Los Angeles area and have lived there for thousands of years.

The park also has an amphitheater, which is an outdoor stage area. It is perfect for small performances or gatherings.

Amazing Views and Ocean Breezes

One of the best parts of Tongva Park is its amazing views. There is a special overlook where you can see the huge Pacific Ocean. You can also get a clear view of the famous Santa Monica Pier. It is a perfect spot to watch the sunset or just enjoy the ocean breeze.

Meet the Famous Trees

Tongva Park is home to some very special trees. One of them is a giant tree nicknamed "Morty." Morty is a type of tree called a Moreton Bay Fig Tree. These trees are known for being very large and impressive.

You will also find three other famous trees known as the "Three Amigos." These are Rusty Fig Trees. Each of these trees weighs more than 100 tons! What is even more amazing is that the "Three Amigos" were moved to the park. They traveled about 550 feet from their old spot to their new home in Tongva Park.

Park Rules to Know

To keep Tongva Park enjoyable for everyone, there are a few rules. One important rule is that smoking is not allowed anywhere in the park. This rule helps keep the air clean and the park safe for all visitors, especially children.
