Antoinette "Toni" Harris (born July 29, 1996) is an American former college football player. She played as a safety for Central Methodist University. Toni made history as the first woman to get a full college football scholarship for a position other than a kicker or punter. She was also the second woman ever to play college football on a scholarship.
Toni's Early Life
Antoinette Harris was born in Detroit, Michigan. When she was in high school, she played football for Redford Union High School. This school is located in Redford, Michigan.
Playing College Football
After finishing high school, Toni Harris moved to California. She joined East Los Angeles College to play free safety. A free safety is a player who helps defend against long passes. She played there for two years, from 2018 to 2019. Toni was the first woman to ever play football for East Los Angeles College.
Toni received six offers to play football at different four-year universities. She chose to attend Central Methodist University. She graduated with honors from Central Methodist University. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.
Toni had plans to continue her education. She intended to get a Master’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice. This would have been at the University of Southern California. She also planned to keep playing football if she could.
